Airline Startup Of The Week: Antigua Airways Launches Operations
There's a new airline in the Caribbean. Antigua Airways, a carrier operating from V. C. Bird International Airport (ANU) on the island of Antigua (a few kilometers northeast of St John's, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda), launched operations on November 1st. Hi Fly Airbus A340 Returns To Antarctica
While Europe enjoys a mild start to the winter, spare a thought for the crew of Hi Fly flight 3L801/3L802. This week, they took an Airbus A340 on a 5,000 NM (9,260 kilometers) odyssey from Cape Town, South Africa, to Antarctica and back.
SpiceJet Begins Scheduled India-Italy Flights Using 737 MAX Aircraft
Indian low-cost carrier SpiceJet is now offering scheduled long-haul services to Europe, capitalizing on demand after the pandemic. The airline will fly to two destinations in Italy from Amritsar using its narrowbody 737 MAX plane, with a stopover in Georgia. You can take a closer look at this new route in our article here.
Air New Zealand Advises Passengers Not To Use Baggage Trackers
Following the baggage tracker drama with Lufthansa about the ban on using Apple's AirTags, fellow Star Alliance member Air New Zealand is almost following suit. On its website, the flag carrier categorized baggage trackers under lithium-ion battery-operated devices and has advised passengers against using them.
Go First Passengers Booked On Non-Existent Flight
Imagine holding a valid flight ticket, getting ready on the day of departure, and reaching the airport hours in advance only to be told that the flight in question does not exist. That's what happened to a group of passengers booked on the Indian budget carrier Go First for a flight between Hyderabad and Delhi on October 31st.
