Singapore Airlines has launched promotional fares for its unique Transatlantic service from Manchester Airport (MAN) to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Return fares start at £462 ($556) in economy class on selected dates throughout 2023, with premium economy available for as little as £1,058 ($1,275) and business class for just £2,008 ($2,420).

As far as the small print goes, it is fairly simple – tickets must be booked by February 23rd, and be for travel between February 14th and March 23rd, April 17th and June 23rd, and August 9th and December 6th. As expected, the Easter holidays are excluded from the promotion, but it does still include a number of peak travel dates throughout the summer.

With these special fares, Singapore Airlines is keen to boost tourism to Houston, a city it describes as “full of Southern charm.” The airline’s service is a continuation of flight SQ52 from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) to Manchester, operating four times per week as per the below schedule:

Singapore Airlines and the Airbus A350

The Singapore – Manchester – Houston route is operated by the Airbus A350-900 in the airline’s long-haul seating configuration, seating a total of 253 passengers in three classes – 42 in business class, 24 in premium economy, and 187 in economy class. A number of Singapore Airlines’ 54 Airbus A350-900s boast a configuration that is more suited to regional flights, carrying 303 passengers in total – 40 in business class and 263 in economy class.

These are in addition to Singapore Airlines’ seven Airbus A350-900ULRs, transporting a total of 161 passengers in a business class and premium economy-only layout on the airline’s ultra-long-haul flights connecting Singapore with destinations in the US, including New York (JFK) and San Francisco (SFO).

Aberdeen to Houston, via Manchester

The airline is also offering special fares on flights from Aberdeen to Houston, via Manchester, clearly targeting the premium traffic that the oil links in both cities provide. The conveniently timed Aberdeen – Manchester leg is operated by Loganair, with the following schedule:

The Scottish regional airline operates both the ATR 42-600 and the ATR 72-600 on its Aberdeen – Manchester route. Under the current promotion, return fares from Aberdeen to Houston, via Manchester, begin at £560 ($675) in economy class, £1,175 ($1,416) in premium economy, and £2,235 ($2,694) in business class.
